Course Description
Management of others is much more an art than a science. More and more in today’s dynamic organizations, the nature of a leader’s role is to manage their most important asset - people. Leadership management includes making performance improvement in those who are in our work teams and groups. According to a recent Harvard study, 85% of the reason managers are successful is based on their ability to deal with people while 15% is based on technical knowledge. Leadership management is not just a set of behaviors applied in the same way in all situations to all people, but it is the ability to assess the issue and its people and choose the right skills and applications for the specific situation and specific person. The ability to deal with people includes being able to assess the issues, identify improvements to be made, set goals and objectives to implement the change and then to monitor people behavior to ensure accountability. The seminar is designed to give participants an increased understanding of how to lead in managing performance improvements in others. The course introduces different human styles that can be used for developing productive manager relationships and identifies and provides practice on techniques in correcting performance and coaching and counseling people to make improvements in their own performance. Every leader has situations which call for motivating, coaching, correcting, counseling or solving problems with their people.
