Advanced Cathodic Protection Techniques (Specification, Design, Commissioning, Testing & Monitoring)
Course Description
Cathodic protection (CP) is a proven method for preventing corrosion in steel structures exposed to aggressive environments such as seawater, soil, and concrete. This course provides a comprehensive understanding of CP principles, design, implementation, commissioning, testing, and monitoring. Key applications include marine and offshore structures, buried pipelines, storage tanks, and reinforced concrete structures. Attendees will also gain insights into advanced CP monitoring systems, troubleshooting techniques, and compliance with industry standards.
The Training Course Will Highlight ?

The course will provide detailed information on cathodic protection specification, design, commissioning, testing and monitoring. The candidates will gain advanced knowledge and skills in cathodic protection of common types of steel structures immersed in waters, buried in soils and imbedded in concrete. They will learn the principles and applications of advanced sensors and monitoring systems for cathodic protection monitoring, condition survey, diagnosis and troubleshooting. Facility owners will benefit from the enhanced safety and reduced maintenance costs.

Training Objective

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

    • Understand the fundamentals of cathodic protection and corrosion control.
    • Design, specify, and implement sacrificial anode and impressed current CP systems.
    • Perform commissioning, testing, and monitoring of CP systems.
    • Optimize CP system performance using advanced monitoring techniques.
    • Apply industry standards such as NACE, ISO, DNV, and ASTM for CP system design and operation.
