Course Description
A variety of vehicles are used for many different tasks every day in workplaces nationwide, and some of these tasks can be dangerous. Banksman training ensures that an organization meets its legal requirements and reduces the risk of costly accidents when carrying out common, but dangerous, reversing maneuvers. Rigging tends to be highly specialized job that cannot be accomplished by ordinary means of moving and material handling equipment. It is designed for moving and lifting objects weighing hundreds and thousands of pounds or kilograms in places where ordinary material handling equipment cannot go. This training provides general advice on how to manage workplace rigging and transport safely. It also provides information on some risks associated with common vehicle and rigging operations, and how to deal with safety for each type of operation.

This interactive training is useful for:

  • Contractors, safety representatives, vehicle operators and other employees, trade associations, commercial landlords and other organizations concerned with transport safety in the workplace.
  • Staff wishing to reduce risk and liability for their organization through sound transportation and safe equipment movement practices, principles and procedures;
  • Employees involved in rigging and hoisting
  • Supervisors responsible for rigging and hoisting
  • Employees required to work on platforms
  • Safety, Health and Environment teams
  • Staff/operatives working within multi-disciplined team/builders.
