Advanced High-Strength Steels (AHSS) & Nano-Steel – Technology, Production and Applications
Course Description

This intensive 1–5-day technical course delivers practical, shop-floor proven knowledge on the latest generation of Advanced High-Strength Steels (AHSS) and Nano-Steel grades that are revolutionizing the automotive, construction, white goods and infrastructure sectors.

By the end of this training course, participants will be able to:

1. Explain the fundamentals of nanotechnology applied to iron-based alloys

2. Differentiate between 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation AHSS and true Nano-Steel

3. Select the correct chemical composition and process route for different AHSS/Nano grades

4. Control critical process parameters in cold rolling, annealing, galvanizing and coating lines to successfully produce HC420LA, HX420LAD+Z, HSLA, Full-Hard, Silicon, Enameling and Nano-Steel grades

5. Identify and eliminate typical defects in high-strength products

6. Achieve weight reduction of 16–40 % in automobiles, construction and appliances while maintaining or improving safety and durability

7. Calculate cost-saving potential through lower zinc, thinner gauges, longer life

8. Apply international standards (EN, ASTM, JIS) for certification and customer approval
