Amine Gas Treating
Course Description

This course provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of amine gas treating processes, combining theoretical principles with practical, real-life case studies. The course covers the chemistry and operational framework of amine units, detailed descriptions of plant components, and strategies for troubleshooting and optimizing performance. Participants will also gain hands-on knowledge in amine sample analysis to ensure plant efficiency and reliability.

The course is designed for personnel directly involved in amine unit operations, helping them improve operational safety, reliability, and performance through practical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize the chemical principles and operational framework of amine gas treating.
  2. Identify and describe the key process units and components in an amine plant.
  3. Recognize common operational issues such as corrosion, foaming, amine degradation, and HSS formation, and apply mitigation strategies.
  4. Conduct and interpret amine sample analyses to monitor and optimize plant performance.

Apply troubleshooting techniques to enhance plant reliability and efficiency

  • Process engineers and supervisors
  • Plant operators, including EPEs (Entry-Level Process Engineers)
  • Personnel responsible for the operation, performance, and reliability of amine units
