Casing & Completion Design Material Selection for HPHT Wells outline
Course Description
course will cover relevant subjects required to understand the structural mechanics of downhome tubular for HPHT wells. Material aspects, connection selection, performance properties, load cases, design factors and buckling are just a few of the many topics covered. The training is designed to casing design for HPHT exploration, appraisal and well developments and their associated risks, challenges and solutions. The participant will be able to design casing for any well: onshore, offshore, high pressure and high temperature wells, horizontal and multilateral wells course will increase the participants’ understanding of the HPHT Cementing well construction plan, have a good working knowledge of cements, cementing additives and placement procedures. The use of temperature modeling, computer programs used for job design. This course covers the importance being placed on the cement sheath integrity during the life of the HPHT well, requiring additional mechanical properties of the set cement be obtained other than the compressive strength. The course covers the use of cement formulations, cement additives, casing hardware, cement blending, on-site mixing equipment and a well-planned job procedure. Cementing guidelines will be covered that aid in overall job performance. Cementing is a fundamental element of effective well construction. By understanding cement chemistry, additive use, and lab procedures the participants will able to build a solid foundation to design and execute cement jobs. Mud removal and centralization will be taught so that the participants can apply effective processes to ensure cement job success. During this course, participants will practice cementing calculations, as well as job design exercises and cement evaluation methods using real-life examples. Liner cementing and stage cementing jobs will be developed in the classroom. Cement design software will also be demonstrated.
